What this coverage means
Records are not unique people, deaths, cities or civilizations. Coverage varies by source, time and region. The map does not contain a complete history of the world. No 2026 annual death total or population-adjusted rate is inferred from missing data.

Refresh starts a fresh sample at the latest validated ledger. If a source stops responding, its last successful reading is marked as retained, not current.
